Meet the Team
Mervyn Dobson has taken forward scores of sites over a 30-year career using both local plans as well as the development control management system across the whole of the United Kingdom. He has been very successful in negotiating planning permission for large schemes of up to 5,000 dwellings on both brownfield and greenfield sites together with major commercial schemes such as that at Warndon, Worcester.
He is an experienced professional planning witness and has successfully represented numerous landowner and developer clients at appeal, for example at RAF Quedgeley, Gloucester, for a mixed use development of over 3000 homes, employment and a neighbourhood centre.
However, his experience is not restricted to large scale schemes and he has successfully gained approval on a range of smaller sites many of which have sensitive constraints affecting them such as ecology, archaeology or visual impact.
He is highly aware of the political nature of planning but has successfully helped to negotiate permission for sites within the Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or Conservation Areas. He has wide experience of preparing a full a range of planning documents needed to accompany planning applications including environmental statements, master plans, design and access statements and Heads of Terms for Planning Obligations as well as attending Examinations in Public to promote new sites.
Robert Webb MRICS FAAV is a development land professional with over 24 years experience in promoting land for residential and commercial development. He is a farmer’s son and a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Agricultural Valuer.
He also runs a successful development consultancy practice based in Buckinghamshire. Before promoting land in his own right, Robert worked for a number of National and Regional House Builders to purchase, sell land and manage the planning process of developing large complex development sites in the Midlands and south of England. This extensive and rounded experience has provided him with in depth knowledge and expertise of the house building industry, including contacts with developers, solicitors, engineers and technical consultants as well as an eye for detail required to promote land and obtain planning permission to maximise the saleability and development value of land.
Some examples of projects that he has been involved with are as follows:-
